Her story
She was one of the first made with the new wire, stiffer than before. It shows: she stays exactly where you leave her and never gives. Hence the sleeping upright. The colour took three dye baths. What we were after was the point between an overripe plum and the shade a tree casts at midday, and until it came out there was no way to name her. Then the name arrived on its own and nobody argued.
