Hilos de Bruja

The studio

Hilos de Bruja is one person, one needle and a lot of wool. Nothing is mass-produced because, quite simply, there is nobody else here.

Each fairy is made by stabbing the wool thousands of times with a barbed needle until the fibres tangle and hold a shape. No glue, no moulds, no seams. Just wool, time and a needle that keeps snapping.

I work with Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified merino wool and untreated wood. Nothing is painted or varnished: the colour is dyed into the fibre itself.

The pieces have an internal wire so they can be posed, which is exactly why they are decorative and collectible objects and not anything else. Each one carries its own number.
